Prevalence of Scoliosis in Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Objective: The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence, form, and severity scoliosis in a population adults meeting 2017 criteria for hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). second objective compare prevalence versus other at initial hEDS diagnosis. Methods: A retrospective looking frequency (N=28) diagnostic through analysis full spine EOS® X-ray (EOS imaging, Paris, France) performed Severity defined by Cobb angle. Results: At diagnosis, mean age 30.1 years (standard deviation [SD]: ±10.18 years). Twenty-nine percent (n=8/28) patients fulfilling presented with scoliosis. Thirty-two (n=9/28) had scoliotic inflection 39% (n=11/28) no Scoliosis mild-to-moderate angle 13.6° (SD: ±3.5°). None severe requiring surgery. Compared criteria, it is noteworthy that present ranks level most frequent ones. Conclusion: This provides interesting information regarding group hEDS. Although did not forms results highlight importance systematically adult young patients, order follow progression ensure appropriate management.
